Dr. Bradley Chmelar

Meet the Doctor

Dr. Bradley Chmelar is a Texan by birth and an Oregonian by choice. After moving to Portland to attend chiropractic college, he developed an affinity for the Pacific Northwest and has practiced in the city ever since graduation. Dr. Chmelar has been a lifelong athlete, playing basketball and football throughout his youth, and subsequently played four years of Division I football. His activities these days include yoga, barbell and kettlebell training, hiking, skiing, and running.

Dr. Chmelar developed an interest in conservative management of musculoskeletal injuries after a back injury in high school threatened to derail his collegiate football prospects. After being taken care of by his team’s chiropractic physician and bouncing back with no time lost, he decided this was a field he could envision his future self in.

Patient independence, knowledge, and movement literacy are a few of the cornerstones of Dr. Chmelar’s philosophy of care. He believes the cookie cutter approach of care simply won’t get the job done and that each patient’s care plan should be tailored to their own history, interests, and goals. When he’s not in the clinic, he can be seen around Portland supporting the Timbers and Blazers, or out and about exploring all the adventures Oregon has to offer.
